After nearly 24 hours of travel, we finally made it to our first stop in Taiwan by way of China Airlines from SAN to LAX to TPE. ✈️
I decided to start travel blogging because I always gain new insights on life and living as a human being whenever I’m taken out of my usual routine while immersed new environments and experiencing different cultures.
One of the lessons I’ve already had since landing in Taipei was the fact that currency values are so arbitrary. It’s pretty funny, actually, now that I think about it. 🤔
In the U.S., it seems people are obsessed with the idea of being a “millionaire”…
But when I received $12,670 NTD in exchange for a mere $400 USD at the aiport currency exchange booth, I realized there are wayyy more millionaires in the world than we even realize.
Becoming a millionaire through hoarding U.S. dollars is only one way of being a millionaire.
What if we were to measure it in NTD? Wouldn’t it be so much more achievable? ✅
And what if we didn’t measure being a millionaire in money at all? 💰
What if we measured our worth and value by the number of acts of kindness we’re able to give while we’re alive? 💝
What if we measured it in the number of new ideas or minds opened from the way we impacted our communities? 💡
The number of lives or families changed? 🌈
There are sooo many ways of becoming a millionaire, and I think I’m ready to start becoming one in a way that isn’t defined by money.
I’ll have to report back on what I decide my unit of measurement will be, but I’m so grateful to have this seed planted in my head from the simple act of exchanging currency while traveling.
We’re currently staying at La Clé Hotel in Taipei, and it’s a super cute boutiquey hotel, and I’ll have to get some good pictures and videos of the dining room and patio tomorrow, but it’s past midnight now and I’m ready to knock out. 😴
Stay tuned for more adventures and lessons to come! ❤️
