I donāt know why I resonate with the Japanese culture so much, but everything from the food to the art, to the nature, and the way people treat each other here just screams, āYou belong here!ā
Japanese food has always been one of my favorite cuisines in the U.S., but the food here from theĀ source is next-level wow.
And the stationery!! š¤©
I found one of the most famous stationery stores in Tokyo, called Itoya in Ginza. It has multiple floors dedicated to all kinds of stationery, from high-quality paper products to arts and craft supplies, and more.
I remember I got my first art supply kit with all the colors of markers, color pencils, and oil pastels one year for Christmas when I was a kid, and it was the first time I ever felt some type of wonder, awe, and excitement for all the possibilities ahead.
I still feel that way every time I step into an art supply store, and getting to explore this massive 12-story Itoya felt like I was in Heaven.
If youāre into arts and crafts and journaling, Ginza Itoya is a must for your next visit to Tokyo! šš½
Isnāt it interesting that we can feel wonder and excitement so viscerally and distinctly? It confirms to me that we already know what we like and donāt like; what we are attracted to and not attracted to.
Itās like we have an internal barometer that lets us know when weāre close to what weāre meant to be doing. And when weāre going against the grain of our soulās longing, we also feel that, too.
I ended up purchasing 20 sheets of stickers and some mini origami paper for a total of $30 (Ā„4630). And they were high quality stickers, made in Japan, with gold foil on them too. š„¹
Everyone knows stuff made in Japan is super high quality. Iām pretty sure I wouldnāt be able to find these stickers in the U.S., and if I did theyād cost at least 3-4 times as much. š©
I spent the rest of the afternoon decorating my journal and scrapbooking to my heartās content with my new stationery products. I can honestly say my inner child has never been happier.
Let this be your sign to follow what lights you up because life is too short to be doing anything else.
You already know what your soulās deepest desires are.
The challenge, should you accept, is to honor them. ā¤ļø
